TUN Day 6: 02/02/09 - Vientiane -> Luang Prabang

. Saturday, March 14, 2009

Ok. It's like one month plus already since all these happened. We left the guesthouse in the morning for the Northern Bus Terminal to head for Luang Prabang. Luggage was being loaded on to the rooftop of the bus beside us at the bus terminal. Quite surprising to see that. Ours was a VIP bus, so our luggage were stored in the belly of the coach.
Baguette!
The road to Luang Prabang was full of never ending turns (and made us queasy) cause it's a mountain road. The view was spectect though. Thankfully, we took the bus in the day. I think the chances of accidents would be very high if we would traveling by night. The bus almost knocked into an incoming lorry at one turn, even though it was moving at a crawling speed. Apparently the driver was trying to be cautious, so cautious that at least one bus that departed some time after us managed to overtake us. The picture below was taken when the bus broke down at some point in time and the staff were repairing it while we got down to take a walk and piss among the bushes. Haven done that in a long, long time.
This was taken at night when we've checked into the guesthouse. We were trying to finish up the freelance work that we were doing for Oase. It was night by the time we finally reached Luang Prabang.
